Report Claims Inter Goalkeeper Handanovic’s Availability For Juventus Will Be Determined In Coming Hours

Samir Handanovic resumed training with the ball today in training and it now remains to be seen whether or not the Inter medical staff will clear him to play in this weekend’s Derby D’Italia away to Juventus according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

The 35-year-old shot-stopper has missed Inter’s last six games across all competitions as a result of a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand but is edging ever closer to making a return to action.

As per the report, the coming hours are likely to be decisive as to whether or not the Slovenian national team keeper will be able to play at the Allianz Stadium or if Daniele Padelli will have to continue to deputise for him.

The ever-reliable Handanovic is one of the longest serving of Inter’s current crop of players and is also the club captain, a role he has carried out for little over a year now.

This season he has made 29 appearances across all competitions, in which time he has conceded 29 goals and kept a total of eight clean sheets.
