Gaby Mudingayi: “Inter Have Everything It Takes To Beat Juventus”

In an interview with Passione Inter, former Inter midfielder Gaby Mudingayi has shared his delight at how the Nerazzurri have performed so far this season.

“Inter are doing well. I am happy for my fellow countryman Lukaku who is doing great things in Milan. I am really happy for him and for the Inter fans. Inter are a great team with a great history and who must always do well. ”

He then went on to speak further about Lukaku who has netted 23 goals in 34 appearances to date in his first season in the Nerazzurri following a club record transfer this past Summer.

“Knowing him, I had no doubts about his qualities. I had doubts about how long it would take him to adapt but he surprised everyone because he was immediately decisive. I wouldn’t say I was surprised though because I knew what he had to offer.”

He then spoke on this weekend’s Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter at the Allianz Stadium in Turin and whether Inter can win.

“I think so. Inter have everything they need to be able to go there and play an excellent match. They have everything it takes to win. ”

Mudingayi was part of the last Inter side to win at the Allianz Stadium back in 2012 and reflected on that occasion.

“It was a beautiful evening, we went there with the desire to get a result and do well. It wasn’t easy at all. Juventus had not been beaten in their stadium but we started with clear ideas and were able to win.”

He then reflected on his time with Inter as a whole.

“It was a blessing for me to play for a team like Inter. Each player aims to get to similar clubs. Unfortunately I got hurt early on in my time with the club.

“It took me a year and a half to get back to 100% and unfortunately my adventure at Inter ended far too soon. Regardless, it was a very positive experience because playing for an important team was a dream for me.”

In conclusion he spoke on how it felt to share a dressing room with players of the calibre of Zanetti, Cambiasso and Milito, to name just a few.

“You learn a lot of things when you get to train with all these champions. It was a really good experience for me.”

Mudingayi was with Inter between 2012 and 2014 and made a total of just 17 appearances across all competitions for the club mainly due to the fact he was continually injured.
