In an interview with the Italian Sporting Directors Association’s official Instagram profile, Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has spoken on the current crisis situation.
All sporting activity in Italy is currently on hold until at least April 3 due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and it remains a complete mystery as to when football could return, if at all.
Many leagues across Europe have taken the decision to postpone their leagues indefinitely due to the crisis and there is lots of speculation about ways seasons can be finished.
“In such a difficult moment, we have rightly been forced into isolation that keeps us away from work and in many cases even our most loved ones. We have a high sense of responsibility to ensure that we can get back to a normal life as soon as possible,” he began.
“I make this message to feel close to each of you. The current blockade of all sports has happened so that you and your families economic security can be guaranteed.”
