Serie A clubs have submitted a number of requests to Lega Serie A that they feel could him them out during the current crisis according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Some clubs have called for the Melandri Law, which regulates the television rights deal, to be modified whilst others have called for rules relating to the advertising of betting companies to be relaxed.
Moreover, clubs are seeking clarity over the possibility of being able to extend the contracts of players whose deals are due to expire at the end of June.
It has also been widely reported that clubs are looking for their players to agree to pay cuts to help cushion the financial blow that all clubs are to suffer as a result of the current situation. Some reports state that damages could be as much as €720 million across the league in the event that it does not conclude.
Clubs are also wanting to know if there will be changes to the transfer window in terms of start and finish dates and how long it will be.
The report goes on to add that Lega Serie A have submitted the requests of their member clubs to the Italian football federation (FIGC), Italian government and European football’s governing body UEFA.
