Inter are set to give current number one goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic a contract extension according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
Handanovic’s current contract with the club is due to expire at the end of next season and as per the report Inter will give him a one year extension at the end of this season.
The 35-year-old Slovenian international has been with Inter since the Summer of 2012 when he arrived from fellow Serie A club Udinese.
Handanovic has been virtually ever present ever since and has went on to make a total of 324 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has kept a total of 114 clean sheets.
This season he has made 30 appearances across all competitions, in which he has conceded 31 goals and kept eight clean sheets.
Whilst Inter are set to secure the short term future of the goalkeeping position by extending his contract, the club are also hard at work on finding the player who can be the goalkeeper in the long term with Udinese’s Juan Musso among the names being considered.
