Italian Report Claims It’ll Be Difficult To Implement Juventus Model Across The Board When It Comes To Player Salaries

It will be difficult to replicate the Juventus model across the board in Italy when it comes to reducing player salaries according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

In the past few days reigning Italian champions Juventus reached an agreement with their players to waive their salaries for the months of March, April, May and June to help the club’s finances during these unprecedented times which have been brought about by the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Lega Serie A want all the players of their teams to agree to cuts to help out but it will be difficult for this to happen.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that the Italian players association would like to set up a fund partly funded by the wages from the big clubs to help out players lower down the Italian football pyramid who do not have the luxury of a massive contract.
