Inter Could Save €40m In Wages If Serie A Season Doesn’t Resume

The size of the wage cut that Inter players will have to take will be determined by whether or not the season will resume according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Serie A season has been on hold for a number of weeks now and it remains a mystery as to whether or not the season will even resume again given the severity of the situation.

Inter’s annual salary bill totals €150 million and the report states that if the season resumes, wages for the months of March and April will be affected.

If the season does not resume however, wages for March, April, May and June will be affected and Inter will ‘save’ some €40 million if this happens.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that Inter want to finish the season but only wish to do so if there is zero risk of contagion.
