An agreement being reached over salary suspensions is still some way away according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
The Italian players association (AIC) met with Lega Serie A last week to hold talks but they were unable to come to any sort of agreement with both of their proposals some way apart from the other.
The AIC proposed that salaries should be suspended for a period of a month whilst Lega Serie A wanted salaries to be suspended until the Coronavirus crisis is over.
Juventus reached an agreement with their players that means they will not receive salaries for the months of March, April, May or June and it remains to be seen if a similar agreement could be reached league wide or if clubs will seek to make agreements of their own with their players rather than wait and see if an agreement can be reached between the Lega Serie A and AIC.
