Former AC Milan striker Marco Simone has urged the current Rossoneri management team to go in for Inter owned Mauro Icardi in the upcoming Summer transfer window.
Icardi is currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain, who have an option to sign him up on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.
There have been contrasting reports in the media with regard to PSG’s intentions for the 27-year-old Argentine forward, who has netted 20 goals and tallied four assists in 31 games across all competitions to date.
In an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Simone, who spent nine years with AC Milan across two spells, discussed the current attackers that the club have available to them and players he thinks should be brought in.
“I would keep Leao, he has strength and talent. Otherwise, if you always find some flaws to those who have talent, you need to start from scratch every time.
“Looking at Piatek, I wouldn’t have given up on him. If Ibra leaves, they will need a centre-forward. I could picture Milik doing well, but I would try to bring Cavani and Icardi to Milan. Mauro would be a great signing.”
Icardi still has a contract with Inter until 2022 and reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Juventus are also keeping a close eye on his situation at PSG.
