The odds of Andrea Ranocchia playing as a starter in Inter’s upcoming Coppa Italia semi final second leg clash with Roma are rising according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
Ranocchia is the only Inter central defender other than Milan Skriniar who is not currently nursing an injury problem and in the event that Diego Godin, Alessandro Bastoni or Stefan de Vrij cannot recover, Ranocchia and Skriniar could be deployed at the centre of a four man defensive line.
Even if one of the above is to recover, there is still a chance that Ranochcia could play as part of a three man defensive line at the Stadio San Paolo.
The 32-year-old, who has been with Inter since January 2011, has found playing time very hard to come by this season with him having been limited to just six appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal.
