Spanish Media Claim Barcelona Have Not Given Up Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona have not given up in their attempts to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from Spanish media outlet Marca earlier today.

The report details how the Catalan club’s primary objectives in the upcoming summer transfer window are the 22-year-old Lautaro and Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic. The Blaugrana cannot afford to pay the Inter striker’s €111 million release clause and were confident that a deal could be reached, considering that they had reached an agreement with the Argentine forward already.

Inter are not particularly interested in any of the players offered by Barcelona, the report continues, and some others want to stay in Catalonia, like Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti. One alternative identified by Barcelona to Lautaro is Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has also been linked with a move to Inter.

Lautaro has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
