Italian Government’s Scientific Committee Scrap Requirement For Entire Squads To Be Quarantined

The Italian government’s technical scientific committee have scrapped the need for whole teams to be quarantined in the event of a positive Coronavirus test according to a report from the online edition of Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

The Italian football federation appealed the technical scientific committee’s initial decision that would have meant teams would have had to go into quarantine for a fortnight.

Now only the person or persons who test positive will be forced to quarantine for that period and the change to the protocol comes with thanks to the pandemic infection curve continually dropping.

The rest of the team will just be subjected to more testing but will not be forced into quarantine unless they go on to test positive themselves.

With this new protocol, Italian football will have the same protocol that is currently being used in Germany where both the Bundesliga and 2 Bundesliga have been back in action for a few weeks now.
