Inter defender Stefan De Vrij may miss tonight’s vital Coppa Italia clash against Napoli, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 28-year-old Dutch defender’s physical condition is still uncertain, and he could risk injury by playing against the Partenopei tonight in Naples.

Coach Antonio Conte may decide against playing De Vrij, and so could deploy Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia instead.

Ranocchia has barely featured this season, the report continues, but may be able to take to the pitch due to various injuries in the defence department, as Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin and Italian full back Danilo D’Ambrosio are both out injured as well.

Tonight’s game against Napoli is crucial for Conte, who wants to win the competition for the first time in his career as a coach. The Nerazzurri are currently 1-0 down on aggregate after losing at home to Gennaro Gattuso’s squad.
