Inter coach Antonio Conte wants to win the Coppa Italia and will focus on the tournament, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Lecce born coach wants to have a success in his first season in Milan, needed after being eliminated from the Champions League and dropping behind in the title race, with Lazio and Juventus both overtaking the Milanese club.
Conte initially was furious with the calendar created by Lega Serie A and the FIGC, the report continues, as he didn’t expect to have to finish the cup before restarting the league. Due to the fact that Inter have played a game less than Lazio and Juventus, the delayed game against Sampdoria is important for morale and Conte was hoping that game would be played first. Whilst the Lecce born coach was angry, he has since changed his tune and wants to win the Coppa Italia, a trophy he hasn’t managed to win in Italy yet.
