Inter Coach Conte Counting On Lautaro & Lukaku To Deliver Against Sampdoria

Inter coach Antonio Conte is counting on Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez to guide the Nerazzurri to a win tonight against Sampdoria, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the former Manchester United striker has impressed in his debut season in Italy, but needs to remain in top form for the final 12 games of the season. Lukaku, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has made 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2994 minutes. In that time, he has scored 23 goals and provided five assists, perfectly realizing the game plan of the Lecce born coach.

The pressure is on for Lautaro to impress tonight against the Ligurian side, the report continues. The 22-year-old Argentine forward disappointed against Napoli last weekend, with rumours suggesting that the player’s head had been turned by the interest of Barcelona. Lautaro will need to remain focused in the remaining games of the season, regardless of whether he joins the Blaugrana or not.
