Roberto Gagliardini To Start Ahead Of Borja Valero For Inter Against Sampdoria Tonight

Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini will start ahead of Spanish midfielder Borja Valero in tonight’s game against Sampdoria, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier this afternoon.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte has been suffering with a familiar problem this weekend, after having multiple midfielders out injured. The Nerazzurri are without the injured Stefano Sensi, Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino, leaving Conte to pick between Gagliardini and Valero to fill in the hole left behind by the Croatian midfielder.

Gagliardini will be given the green light, the report continues, and will play alongside former Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella in the new 3-4-1-2 formation, with the duo playing behind Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen. The former Atalanta midfielder has made 16 appearances so far this season, scoring and assisting twice in that time.

Probable Inter line up (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan De Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Antonio Candreva, Roberto Gagliardini, Nicolo Barella, Ashley Young; Christian Eriksen; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
