Former Inter striker Ronaldo discussed ex-Nerazzurri striker and teammate Ivan Zamorano in an interview in a video conference organised by Santander earlier today, as reported by FcInterNews.
“For me Iván was the best Chilean in history. We were together for a long time at Inter and I can say that for me he was the best in the history of the country.”
Zamorano spent five years of his career with Inter, from 1996 to 2001. The Chilean forward made 150 appearances for the Milanese club in that time, for a total of 10312 minutes. In that time, he scored 41 goals and provided three assists, winning a UEFA Cup with the Nerazzurri in the 1997/98 season. He found more success at Real Madrid, scoring 97 times and assisting twice in 168 appearances for Los Blancos.
Ronaldo, who played alongside Zamorano for four years, made 98 appearances for Inter in his five years with the club from 1997 to 2002. In that time, he scored 59 goals and provided 11 assists, but struggled massively with serious knee injuries, failing to make a single appearance in the 2000/01 season for the Nerazzurri.
