Inter Coach Antonio Conte Explodes At Referee For Booking Lautaro Martinez Against Sampdoria

Inter manager Antonio Conte reacted angrily toward fourth official Luca Pairetto after Lautaro Martinez was given what he felt to be an unjust booking in yesterday’s win over Sampdoria according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Shortly after the second half began at San Siro, referee Maurizio Mariani showed the Argentine national team forward a yellow card despite the fact Lautaro made no connection with Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Bertolacci.

Following the 22-year-old’s booking, Conte turned to Pairetto and made his feelings on the booking more than clear enough.

“Why the yellow card? What the f**k is this, how can you tell him it’s a yellow? How is he a metre away yet you call a yellow card from here? Let me understand, he is the one who is the referee yet you call the yellow card?,” he is quoted as saying to Pairetto by the above source.

Inter won last night’s encounter 2-1 over La Samp. Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring for Inter and Lautaro doubled Inter’s lead which meant Inter went into the half time interval 2-0 up.

Despite chances to extend their lead, Inter failed to do so and Sampdoria managed to pull one back but Inter managed to see the game out and secure the three points which has now put them within six points of league leaders Juventus with 12 games to play.
