Inter’s Christian Eriksen: “We Believe In The Scudetto, Conte Is Right I Should’ve Scored”

Inter attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted playing in behind Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez is great due to the amount of space on the field.

“At the moment there is a lot of space for me, the opponents are scared of Lukaku and Lautaro and all I have to do is create for them,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official broadcaster Inter TV following on from last night’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria as the 2019/20 Serie A season resumed after a three and a half month stoppage.

The Danish national team player was then asked about Inter manager Antonio Conte wanting him to score more goals.

“Conte wants more goals from me? He’s right, I could have scored on two occasions. I am happy with my assist to Lukaku, but it is clear that I have to improve in scoring goals too.”

Eriksen proceeded to discuss how he has settled in at Inter following his arrival at the club in a circa €20 million deal from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

“Here at Inter I am very well, there is a large group and I was exceptionally welcomed from the beginning. I really like being here, I am also improving in learning the language.”

In conclusion Eriksen spoke on Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A title this term.

“Do we believe in the Scudetto? Yup.”

Following his arrival at Inter, Eriksen has since went on to make 10 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored two goals and provided just as many assists.
