Italian Journalist Sconcerti: “Inter Coach Conte Is Self-Referent, He Asks Questions He Answers Himself”

In his latest column, which appeared in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera, Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his views on Inter’s performance in last night’s 3-3 draw at home to Sassuolo.

Inter fell behind early doors but managed to recover and go into the half time interval 2-1 ahead thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Biragh.

Inter could and should have went further ahead but failed to capitalise on chances before Sassuolo brought things level. Just before the end Borja Valero looked to have scored a winner for Inter but the lead was short lived as Sassuolo scored moments later.

“Inter have dropped to eight points behind top spot. Conte remains alone again with his eternally insufficient millionaire squad. Conte is a self-referent, he asks questions and answers them himself,” Sconcerti began his piece in the Milan based news outlet.

“He hasn’t accepted a free interview for years. A complete and extra-moenia explanation of his work, which very often is excellent, but not always, and belongs to everyone, not only to him.”

He went on to add: “Conte’s game is simple and concrete, but it lacks lightness, dribbling, imagination and speed in the last twenty meters. Among many good ones, there is no one who has the last idea and without that you slam into the opponents.”

Inter are back in action this coming weekend with them set to face Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. The match is scheduled to kick off at 21:45 local time on Sunday.
