What has happened this season to Inter is evidence as to why Inter manager Antonio Conte so badly wanted Arturo Vidal signed according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
When Conte arrived at the club there was great hope that he could put an end to the recent trend of Inter slumping between December and February which has derailed them in several of the last few seasons.
However the former Italian national team boss failed to stop the trend from continuing and the report claims that Conte wanted Vidal due to his experience of winning titles in various countries and this could have helped others to grow.
Ahead of the upcoming transfer window, Inter have drawn links to Vidal again and the report from the Turin based news outlet explains that Inter do not want to acquire the Chilean as part of a deal that would send Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona.
Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta wants to do a deal for Vidal, whose contract expires at the end of next season, on his terms.
