Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has the opportunity to redeem himself as he is set to start against Parma this evening, according to a report from Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 26-year-old former Atalanta midfielder suffered widespread criticism for his open goal miss against Sassuolo in the mid-week game, which ended up costing the Milanese club dearly as they dropped two points to the Neroverdi. Gagliardini is keen to make amends for his mistake and coach Antonio Conte is willing to give him that opportunity.
Gagliardini is set to start ahead of Borja Valero in the midfield, the report continues, teaming up with former Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella. The 26-year-old Italian midfielder has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1198 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, failing to fully convince coach Antonio Conte.
