Inter Milan are having a decent season, currently perched in third position in the league just four points form second and eight points off Juventus leading the pack.
Their season has been stalled by the number of draws the team has had. Only three Serie A teams have had more draws than Inter this year, which is proving to be the difference at the top of the league.
Inter Milan’s successes this year have mostly been down to Lukaku’s excellent season and young Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez, who will be hard to keep hold of in the next few seasons.
Bets On Inter That Would Have Paid Of
1. Player To Score Anytime
If you are going to bet on a player to score at any time for Inter, you will improve your chances by betting on the teams two most prolific strikers for decades, Lukaku and Martinez. Both forwards have been on hot scoring form this season and are a safe option. In fact, there have been only eight games this season (at the time of writing) that neither one of Lukaku or Martinez did not score.
However, because of their scorching hot form, the bookmakers have cottoned on and usually slashed their odds to score anytime. You could counter this by placing them to score first or last, or you may want to try Asian handicap bets instead. These are bets where teams are given a 1 or 1.5 goals head start.
2. Matches Ending In Draws
Draws are some of the hardest results to call. Because of the fast pace of elite football and lapses in concentration and human errors, it just takes a second from a draw to become a victory for one team. However, Inter Milan have been involved in more score draws than usual this season, including:
- 1-1 PSG (friendly)
- 1-1 Slavia Prague (Champions League)
- 2-2 Parma (Serie A)
- 1-1 Fiorentina, Atlanta, Lecce, Cagliari (Serie A)
- 3-3 Sassuolo (Serie A) (the reverse tie was a seven-goal thriller too!)
These are more draws than Inter would have liked and they interestingly went on a run of three consecutive games ending in 1-1 draws in January. If you are going to bet on an Inter draw, maybe a 1-1 scoreline is the draw to bet on.
Lukaku has voiced his disappointment at the team’s latest draw.
3. Player To Score A Penalty
If you are going to bet on a player to score a penalty then it is usually straight forward, but not when Inter is concerned. Whereas most teams have a single penalty taker that they stick with, Inter seems to have two. This makes knowing who to bet on in this market a bit of a lottery.
To date this season, Inter have been awarded five penalties, which have been dispatched by Lukaku and Martinez. More recently, Lukaku has been the designated penalty taker, which you may wish to factor into any future penalty scorer bets at the San Siro.
