The signing of Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is within reach for Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Having wrapped up a deal to sign Achraf Hakimi to reinforce at right wing back, Inter have now shifted their focus onto Emerson who will reinforce the opposite side.

Chelsea are pushing for a permanent transfer whilst it cannot be excluded that Inter may manage to land him on a loan with option to buy. Either way, the transfer fee will be less than a total value of €30 million.

Emerson wants to return to Italy having slid down the pecking order under Frank Lampard and the report states that Juventus are also interested in signing the former Roma defender who has been with his current employers since January 2018.

The report from the Milan based news outlet explains that Inter have identified an alternative to Emerson in the event that they cannot sign him with that alternative being his Chelsea teammate Marcos Alonso.
