Champions League Will Largely Affect Inter’s Summer Mercato

Qualification for the Champions League next season will make all the difference to Inter’s summer transfer dealing according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Getting in the Champions League could allow Inter to approach better targets such as Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid but not making it will mean they will have to sacrifice on quality and go for ‘lesser’ options. The likes of Bryan Cristante, Nicolo Barella and Lucas Tousart fall under this ‘lesser’ bracket.

Inter also remain keen on signing Bologna’s Simone Verdi but the Nerazzurri consider the €23 million fee that the Sardinian club agreed with Napoli back in January, before the deal collapsed, is too much. Inter may opt to include one of Andrea Pinamonti or Zinho Vanheusden in a deal to lower the price.

Moreover, the Rome based newspaper report that Inter plan on taking up their redemption option on Rafinha but state it is near impossible for them to do the same with Joao Cancelo.
