During an event organized by Pirelli for the inauguration of “Frames of Passion”, which is an exhibition with 40 Inter themed photographs, Nerazzurri fullback Danilo D’Ambrosio spoke with Rai Sport about the Champions League race, which sees Luciano Spalletti’s team fight it out with Lazio to the wire.
The Italian international argued that: “We have always believed in being able to qualify for the Champions League, then it is not up to us to say if we are favorites or not. Our objective is to return to the Champions League after many years, we play against Lazio who have two points more than us, so we are forced to make six points in two games. It all depends on us because we have the potential to take maximum points against Sassuolo and then against Lazio.”
The Inter fullback then commented on Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio going into the final two matches of the season analyzing that: “the team has many injuries, but in my opinion, they have excellent substitutes in every role, they’ve played the same football for a few years, they are on Champions League level.”
In conclusion he commented on the importance of Luciano Spalletti: “As the numbers say, he is doing different things than in the past, he has won us many points, in my opinion he gave us a different mentality, we are building a good base from which to start.”
