West Ham would like to extend Joao Mario’s loan according to English tabloid newspaper the Daily Star.
The Portuguese midfielder joined the Hammers on an initial six month loan in January and made 13 appearances under David Moyes, who has been replaced by Mauricio Pellegrini during the off season.
However, Inter are not interested in loaning out the 25-year-old again and would far rather sell him outright with the Daily Star suggesting they want £26 million (circa €29 million) to part ways with him. Inter wanting an outright sale could in fact derail West Ham’s bid to keep him.
Other reports currently doing the rounds in the media show that there is no shortage of interest in the former Sporting man who was part of Portugal’s EURO 2016 winning team prior to his €44 million transfer to Inter that summer. Everton, Manchester United, Liverpool, Valencia and Sevilla are all understood to have taken an interest in him.
