As reported by ANSA, the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala has shown confidence in the financial situation of Inter. Attending the presentation, the politician spoke cautiously.
“Without meaning to cause any offence, Inter have a more solid ownership whilst Milan are in an objectively more difficult situation. We can see it in the facts.
“What does the future hold for the stadium? This is a theme which I am not forcing because I understand it is a complex situation.”
Sala did agree, however, that there is a need for a new stadium in Milan, one that is “different from today’s, more attractive, and that can attract more tourists and visitors during the week as we see in many other large European cities.
“I have tried to encourage the two companies (Inter and Milan) to apply for a loan along with the city to fund the project, but only Inter have responded positively. Milan would instead like a stadium of their own.”
