Inter Ahead Of Napoli In Race To Sign Man Utd’s Darmian

Yesterday the reports first surfaced that given the impressive performances in midfield by Asamoah, Luciano Spalletti might use him in the middle of the pitch prompting Inter to set their sights on Manchester United’s Italian international full-back Mattia Darmian.

Sky Sport Italia report now that Inter are ahead of Napoli in the race to sign the player due to the players wage demands. According to the report, Darmian, who currently earns €3 million net per season at Old Trafford, would have to take a pay cut in order to join Napoli as the Partenopei’s budget doesn’t allow for this sum to be paid out. On the other hand Inter can easily afford the sum discussed which is why the Nerazzurri now lead the race.

As for the formula of the transfer itself, Sky report that Manchester United have now opened to loaning out the player with an option to buy but refuse to part ways with the former Torino man for anything less than a deal worth €20 million in total.
