Modric’s Meeting With Perez Postponed To Tomorrow

Gazzetta dello Sport have recounted the events of yesterday which saw Inter target Luka Modric seemingly take a huge step toward moving to Inter.

Modric’s meeting with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was postponed but he did meet with Real Madrid’s number two Jose Angel Sanchez yesterday instead and made it more than clear that he wants to leave Los Blancos.

With the Spanish side tied up having brought in Thibaut Courtois, who will be presented today, the meeting with Perez is now expected to take place tomorrow instead Gazzetta report.

It is not a matter of money for Modric whatsoever and his desire to leave is not a ploy to be granted a new and improved contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, he simply wants a new challenge for himself having been part of a Madrid side to have won three straight Champions League titles.

The report from Gazzetta also goes on to state that unlike with Cristiano Ronaldo where only one outcome was available, Perez has agreed to meet with Modric and reach a deal that satisfies all involved. Modric is hopeful that Perez will stick to his promise and allow him to leave.

With Inter travelling to the Spanish capital to take on Real’s city rivals Atletico at the weekend, the perfect opportunity could present itself for the two clubs to meet and agree a transfer for the 32-year-old who already has an agreement in principle with Inter.
