Corriere della Sera have taken stock of the Luka Modric situation with it now all but confirmed that the Croatian will be sticking around at the Santiago Bernabeu despite strong interest from Inter and compared the midfielder’s situation to that of Cristiano Ronaldo’s, who was allowed to leave Los Blancos with seemingly very little fuss from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez who made things very difficult for Modric.

“Modric stays with the Blancos for now, albeit with a bitter taste in his mouth while maintaining the desire to join the Nerazzurri,” the report from the Milan based newspaper starts out.

“For now, he does not want to talk about a new contract with his club, but that is another story certainly very different from that of Cristiano Ronaldo, especially when it comes to the differing attitude of Florentino Perez as Perez gave Cristiano the go-ahead without fuss and without any discontent.”
