No Vidal and no Modric, but Inter nonetheless gets high praise in today’s paper edition of Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport as the team is about to make their season debut tomorrow night against Sassuolo.
According to the report: “Inter started by searching for a midfielder and a lot of big names circulated, something has been part of the entire transfer window. Now there is Vecino who ex-Napoli coach Sarri wanted to bring to Chelsea, and a re-charged Gagliardini who skipped the last part of the season. Then there is Borja Valero who can bring some extra weight and determination to the final part of the games. In addition to this there are Brozovic and Asamoah controlling the midfield and probable starting players against Sassuolo.
“All in all an interesting mix of players that start in a system already memorized by the entire team, no need for learning there. Take Radja Nainggolan for example, a player that gave everything he had during Spalletti’s last season in Roma, where he scored 11 time in the Serie A. To put Radja deeper in the pitch is possible but something that only will occur on rare occasions. Perhaps Spalletti will experiment a bit regarding this, but only in games that allow the team to lose its balance. Also in order to give Lautaro Martinez some freedom in the trequartista area where Inter really has boosted the squad. In total a really interesting blend that can explode” the newspaper concludes.
