In an interview by Radio Deejay during ‘Deejay Football Club’ Andrea Pirlo talked about Luka Modric, who could have left Real Madrid and joined Inter this Summer in a deal that would have set the Serie A alight. There is no doubt that Inter would have had a leap in quality by signing a player of Luka Modric’s caliber.

“At Real Mardid, Luka Modric has been a breakthrough player, he has shown his quality and his ability to do great things. He would have been ideal for Inter’s midfield as he would have played the deep lying playmaker role perfectly for Inter.”

Andrea Pirlo, who had a short stint at Inter very early on in his career, had grown to become what some consider to be one of the best deep lying playmakers of all time in his long and successful career before retiring in 2017 after a stint in the MLS.
