The loss to Sassuolo at the weekend showed how dependent Inter are on Marcelo Brozovic performing in his deeper role where he has excelled in recent months, FCInterNews.it believe.

Despite setting a personal record for touches in a game with 133, Brozovic struggled to make his presence truly felt and seemed to be still suffering from a World Cup hangover as evidenced by his poor numbers in the defensive phase in the game and on the individual duels front.

The fact another midfielder, who could have aided him and or freed him up shows, did not arrive shows that the Inter management are betting heavily on Brozovic to deliver week in week out.
