Despite showing real signs of improvement over the course of pre-season, Dalbert took a real step back with his performance in the opening day defeat away to Sassuolo, something thay could cost him his place in Inter’s squad for the Champions League according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The full back is one of the names on the list of candidates who could be excluded for Inter’s long awaited return to Europe’s premier club competition. Borja Valero, Antonio Candreva and Roberto Gagliardini are all also understood to be at risk of being excluded according to the report from the Milan based news outlet.

Joao Mario’s future with the club determines how many Inter must exclude. If the 25-year-old Portuguese midfielder remains with the club, Inter must exclude three players from the squad list but if he is to depart, it will only be two players who must be excluded.
