Asamoah Praised For Settling In Quickly At Inter

Kwadwo Asamoah has been praised in Wednesday’s Corriere dello Sport for the speed with which he has settled into life at Inter.

The Ghanaian is due to make his first appearance for his national team in almost four years after being called up for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on 7 September, and was widely regarded as Inter’s best performer in their opening-day defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday.

“Secure, combative, concentrated throughout and, most of all, versatile, a quality that [Luciano] Spalletti likes the majority of his players to have,” the Rome-based publication write. “Asamoah has already made his presence felt, but the Inter side that turned up in Reggio Emilia was well off the pace.

“It was him that drew the contact which should have been punished with a penalty at the end of the first half, when [Francesco] Magnanelli clattered into him – an incident that could have changed the complexion of the match, perhaps woken Inter from their semi-slumber while Sassuolo were moving twice as fast.

“Asamoah had spoken about being ruthless and hungry before Sunday’s match but he was the only one to display those qualities. He’s settled in at Inter immediately.”
