Radja Nainggolan has taken another step towards making his competitive Inter debut after completing a gym session with the rest of the first team on Tuesday.
The Belgian missed the Nerazzurri’s first league match of the season on Sunday as Luciano Spalletti’s side lost to Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium, having failed to recover in time from the thigh injury he sustained against Sion during pre-season.
However Nainggolan’s chances of featuring in the upcoming clash with Torino at San Siro – albeit not from the beginning – have increased after the 31 year-old worked in the gym with the rest of the first-team squad.
Inter are keen not to rush the midfielder back into action as they do not want to risk aggravating the problem and losing him for a sustained period of time.
Nainggolan is expected to return to full training either on Wednesday or Thursday, which would make his inclusion in some capacity at the weekend all but certain.
