Luciano Spalletti: “We Had Been Doing Well But Then We Stopped”

Inter manager Luciano Spalletti spoke with Inter TV to share his thoughts and feelings after the 2-2 draw with Torino.

“Analysing the game will be difficult but there are assessments to be made on certain episodes of play. It becomes impractical but it happened and there is the need for it to be analysed.

“We did not have the right reaction [once it went 2-2] and it is clear that, if you renounce yourselves, then the opponents can take control of the situation themselves

“The tactics matter little in this situation, what becomes fundamental is to have strength and then it also takes quality in managing the ball in order to make the opponents run in vain. We had been doing well but then we stopped.”

Asked which result was harder to take between tonight’s draw and the loss to Sassuolo, Spalletti said, “Both because we have not done the best that we could have done and it’s hard to find the reason other than that we need to do more.”

Spalletti concluded by discussing having to substitute wing backs Sime Vrsaljko and Kwadwo Asamoah.

“There were several players that demanded a change, even Icardi was at risk after a blow in the first half but the changes of Vrsaljko and Asamoah were forced because they were in most difficulty.”
