Luciano Spalletti: “A Fascinating Champions League Group”

Inter coach Luciano Spalletti stopped by Inter TV to answer questions from Nerazzurri fans from all over the world via the club’s Facebook page, as is now the tradition.

The former Roma coach began by talking about the upcoming match against Bologna stating that: “When it comes to our opponents, it is always the same thing. There is a desire to do well against Inter, in this case because Bologna have not had a good start, they play at home and then there’s the international break. We will find all the adversities in the league in this match, but we must get there by showing more of our personality.”

Spalletti then turned to the congested fixture list after the international break stating that: “We knew about the busy schedule, we set up a bigger squad for this very reason and when we go to face these moments these choices will benefit us. The group is fascinating, the price of being in the fourth seeding group is one we paid to the last penny but last year we would have paid to be in this group.

“It is fundamental that Inter’s name was in one of those balls during the draw. Enthusiasm, will and memories will give us the strength to be at the level we need to be. When you play these matches you grow quickly, these are all teams that are used to the Champions League, strong teams. Three of these teams have won the treble like we have, only Tottenham have not managed to do so. It is clear that we will have to grow when faced against these teams by measuring ourselves against them and also absorbing their qualities” Spalletti concluded.
