Gazzetta dello Sport have recalled the glorious night when Barcelona’s Camp Nou became the Camp Mou during Inter’s run to winning the Champions League and thus completing the Triplete following yesterday’s Champions League draw that pits the two sides in the same group.
“Thiago Motta was sent off for a “foul” on Sergio Busquets, that brought a reaction from the Spaniard worthy of an Oscar for the best screenplay of the season. Inter played for over an hour outnumbered against Barcelona yet José Mourinho’s side resisted until the bitter end.
“The result was a typical old style Italian one. Special things happened that night. Gerard Piqué’s goal was scary, but it was not enough for the Catalans: Inter were in the final, and Camp Nou became the Camp Mou.”
