Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that both Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez are injured but this will not stop them from reporting for international duty.

Mauro and Lautaro are both injured but will still go to the national team, then we will see what their conditions are. Had a few more minutes passed before we scored, we would probably have put Lautaro on but anyway, they are both young and are wanting to stay in the national team where there is a new coach ofcourse,” Spalletti said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Spalletti was also quizzed on his impending decision with regard to naming his squad list for the Champions League and dismissed reports suggesting Antonio Candreva could be left out.

“I have not said anything to the team yet on the matter. Behind my choice there are several factors based on how much the players cost, the time they have spent here etc. Candreva excluded? He can not be included in that discussion as he was in the squad for the Europa League two years ago.”
