Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has praised club captain Mauro Icardi as well as discussing the benefits of the arrival of Radja Nainggolan from Roma over the summer.

“Icardi is 25 years old, there are many games in which he becomes a leader for Inter, you have seen it in games against Juventus in recent years, maybe he does not have the qualities of Gonzalo Higuain in keeping the ball, but he can instead learn in terms of movement,” Bergomi said in an interview with Sky Sport.

“Last year Icardi and Ivan Perisic scored most of the goals but now there is a third player at Inter capable of scoring goals and that is Radja Nainggolan. Nainggolan’s physicality can give Inter a real advantage over their opponents.”

To conclude, Bergomi, voiced his opinion on what Inter should be aiming to achieve this season amid claims from others that Inter are capable of toppling Juventus.

“This year Inter should look to consolidate in the league and secure a place in the Champions League.”
