Borja Valero At Risk Of Being Excluded From Champions League Squad

Borja Valero could well find himself excluded from Inter’s Champions League squad that is to be submitted to UEFA by midnight tonight according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

The Spaniard, who is in fact one of few players in the current squad with Champions League experience, has been an unused substitute in each of Inter’s first three Serie A games and could join Joao Mario, Tomasso Berni and Dalbert on the list of exclusions for the reduced squad due to the settlement agreement. The settlement agreement Inter reached with UEFA which not only limits their squad size but means they must have a fiscal balance when it comes to balancing transfers in and out of the club since the 2016/17 Europa League campaign.

The 33-year-old veteran attacking midfielder joined Inter last summer for a fee in the region of €5 million from Fiorentina and made 37 appearances across all competitions last season in Nerazzurri wherein he scored two goals.
