Inter club captain Mauro Icardi has assured reporters he is fine upon his arrival in the United States where he will link up with his Argentine national teammates ahead of two friendly matches with Guatemala and Colombia.
Journalists from Icardi’s native Argentina, in particular from Clarin, chased Icardi upon his arrival where he told them “I am fine, I am fine,” when quizzed on his condition.
Icardi took part in the warm-up prior to Saturday’s 3-0 win over Bologna but watched the game from the stands as he pulled up during it.
Reports that have done the rounds in Italy today suggest he has picked up an injury to his thigh and his condition will be tested while with the Argentine national team and watched if needs be.
The 25-year-old has appeared in two of Inter’s three league games thus far this season but has yet to get off the mark and score his first goal.
