Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa: “Happy For My Goals”

Inter owned Brazilian striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa scored a hat-trick on his 22nd birthday in Santos’ 3-0 win against Vasco Da Gama in their latest league fixture.

The player, who is currently out on loan with the Brazilian outfit from Inter, expressed his joy over the goals when speaking with Brazilian media outlet A Tribuna, but also underlined the importance of his teammates stating that: “I am very happy for my goals but I did not score them on my own, all my teammates contributed in this. We are a team, not just one single player.”

Gabigol continued praising his current team stating that: “We are now going up the league standings, but for the sake of the name of the big club that is Santos we have to always think about higher objectives. However, we have to take it one step at a time. We have an incredibly close knit group.”

Since joining on loan Santos in January of this year Gabigol has featured in 38 matches across all competitions scoring 19 goals.
