Borja Valero Could Get Increase In Playing Time At Inter

Borja Valero could be set to see an increase in playing time due to lack of alternatives within Inter’s Champions League squad according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

With Roberto Gagliardini excluded from the squad due to financial fair play reasons, Matias Vecino and Marcelo Brozovic will undoubtedly be the two starters in the middle of the park. Borja Valero is the only real alternative in the squad then and manager Luciano Spalletti is not against giving the veteran midfielder the ‘keys to the midfield.’

Since arriving two summers ago, the 33-year-old has made 37 appearances across all competitions all of which came last season. He has yet to see any action at all this season but based on this report this could soon be set to change. Whether that means he gets more league action to allow Vecino or Brozovic to rest or give the Nerazzurri a different option in Europe.
