Inter midfielder Matias Vecino took part in the pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League tie with Tottenham Hotspur and firstly reflected on Saturday’s loss to Parma.

“Every game is different and on another Saturday we would’ve probably scored as we created more chances. After their goal we got anxious and gave them too much space. We have to improve in this aspect.”

“In my opinion it is not a question of approach, because the team did well especially in the first half against Torino where we started well, then there are moments where we do not know how to suffer as a team. We have to fight as a team for all 90 minutes. When we face great teams, if we are compact we can go beyond our possibilities.”

The Uruguayan then dismissed the idea that tomorrow’s match will be absolutely decisive and discussed Tottenham’s danger men.

“No it won’t be decisive but it will be very important during this time. It could give us a lot of confidence in the search of finding form, as well as for the Champions League where points are very important.

In my opinion Christian Eriksen is their most dangerous. He is a player who knows how to move the ball well and can be decisive.

Vecino scored the goal that sent Inter to the Champions League and recalled that moment as well as discussing the lack of experience being a potential advantage to Inter in terms of making all the players more hungry to succeed.

“It was a very emotional moment. I look forward to remembering good and bad things but am looking forward to new opportunities and tomorrow can be a great opportunity for us.

“I think it can be used as an advantage. We have a mix of young people and older players, even those who have not played in the Champions League have player in other big competitions. We are an important team, we can play it, it will depend on us and on what we do in the field.
