Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti stopped by Italian TV channel Sky Sport Italia moments before kick-off in the opening group stage fixture in the Champions League when the Nerazzurri host Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

The former Inter captain was asked about his thoughts going into the fixture to which he replied: “These lads have really wanted to return to the Champions League and they have demonstrated this by fighting until the very last second against Lazio. Now it is time and we are ready to give a great performance.

“With regards to how things have been going in the Serie A, I think that this match is ideal in order for the squad to demonstrate that it can do well. We have a very difficult group but this crowd and these fans deserve a response, now we have to only focus on playing” Zanetti concluded.
