Mauro Icardi: “I Am Not Worried, The Goals Will Come”

Inter captain Mauro Icardi stopped by TV channel Sky Sport Italia moments before kick-off between the Nerazzurri and Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspurs in the opening group stage fixture of the 2018/2019 Champions League at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

The Nerazzurri skipper began by expressing his delight at playing in the Champions League stating that: “I have been waiting for this day for quite some time and today it has finally arrived. Obviously after a start to the season like the one we have had, one that we did not expect, a game like this, at home, could bring us out of this bad start if we are able to give a great performance.”

In conclusion Icardi was asked if he was worried that he is yet to score this season in any competition to which he replied: “No, I always say that I look to do what I am supposed to do. Up until now I have played two and a half matches, we are only in the beginning of the season, the goals will come so I am not worried. I am worried about the team that doesn’t win not for my goals.”
