Inter manager Luciano Spalletti is looking for a reaction from his Inter players this evening when they open their Champions League campaign at home to Tottenham Hotspur according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

“Spalletti does not bow to the criticism and he takes full responsibility for the current moment. Despite the results, he is convinced that Inter is on the right track. They are in need of a nudge, a spark if you must that shakes the group up and turn the fortunes of the team around. The first European night, in front of almost 70 thousand at San Siro and against one of the best teams in Europe, could be the right occasion to do so.”

With a tough group stage ahead, CorSera have stressed the need for Inter to win while also looking at one of Inter’s biggest disadvantages.

“Inter need a win to get in a good position in a group that contains Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven too. The team does lack experience in the Champions League however with six of the potential eleven starters having never played a Champions League match.”
